Description
Sand is one of the main products that are inserted into a tank during its setup. Sands are commercially available in different grain sizes and colors, often unnatural and very flashy. The entire Aqpet team has worked hard to offer you sands that can enhance the beauty of nature. The WILD SAND line is a line of completely natural sands, the uniform grain size allows for a homogeneous and compact bottom. The sand undergoes a preventive cleaning and sterilization process but it is still recommended to rinse it in fresh water before using it in the aquarium. The different grain sizes and colors satisfy the needs of all enthusiasts, without ever giving up the simplicity and uniqueness of wild nature. In fact, particular attention was paid to the choice of colors to ensure that the natural shades of the fauna and flora present in the tank were enhanced and to allow all aquascapers to give vent to their creativity, recreating a habitat faithful to the natural one and not too far from a wild ecosystem.
The sands are taken from nature, therefore they could contain traces of calcareous substances. Their use is particularly indicated with the use of acidifying allophane bottoms thanks to their buffer capacity. Check any compatibility based on the layout and type of setup you intend to create.
There are six colors:
- BLACK INK – a sand made up of 1 mm granules, it has a very intense black colour that recalls the large volcanic beaches found in Hawaii.
- RED BRICK – a sand made up of 1 mm granules, it has a brick red colour that recalls the vast ferrous beaches found in the Galapagos archipelago.
- RED ZAFIRO – a sand made up of 1 mm granules, it has an intense red colour like many beaches with a high concentration of iron in Peru.
- ROSE VELVET – a sand formed by 1 mm granules, with a very light and delicate pink color. Many beaches in nature have this characteristic color due to the accumulation of some calcareous shells of a generally pink color.
- NATURAL LAGOON – a sand made up of 2 and 3 mm granules, it has a mixed colour tending towards grey, which recalls the sedimentology of lagoons with low water movement.
- TROPICAL LAKE – a sand made up of 2 and 3 mm granules, it has a mixed colour tending towards beige, which recalls the sedimentology of lakes with low water movement.
The sand packs are 5kg and can also be used together, mixing the colors and grain sizes.
